Diploma in Prosthetics and Orthotics
Mr. Audumber Virupaksh Basutkar, the Founder of "Basutkar's Pioneer - Orthotics and Prosthetics Center, Solapur" completed his Diploma in Prosthetics and Orthotics in 1980. In the year 1982, there were lots of problems regarding the Prostheses and Orthoses i.e. Artificial devices for the physically challenged persons across India. In those days, getting such highly advanced and modernised artificial devices was a dream for the "Divyangjan Peoples". At that time, divyangas had to do a lot of life-threatening exercise while carrying out their daily routines by maintaining the balance of the body with the help of walking sticks. Using such walking sticks, they were putting themselves at an increased risk of fractures and injuries.
